This review is for not-gaming applications. I bought this monitor to turn my Macbook Air into a desktop for working at abode, and it works fine for work. As well work, I exercise photography editing. This is where this monitor really shines for me. The resolution and colour is fantastic! It makes it so much easier to edit my photos on this monitor vs my 13" laptop screen.Note about other reviews on the wobbly stand. I was hesitant to buy this monitor when I read those reviews, simply luckily I read one review where the person used a screwdriver to tighten the screw on the stand instead of simply mitt tightening. I followed their communication, and it worked similar a charm....the stand works fine.

I wish I could love this monitor but unfortunately, both unit (original and the replacement) shows the same type of screen defect after only half dozen hours of usage and the symptom of such defect intensified as the usage time increases.I have contacted LG tech support and they said that it is the burn-in defect and instruct me to return it to retailer (Amazon) or to send in for repair.I have verified that information technology is not my hardware (either graphic card, the HDMI cable or the combination of two) causes such consequence. I ran test with the 4 years old HP IPS LED monitor that I intended to replace, likewise as a HP IPS LED monitor borrowed from a friend. In the test, I use the same port and aforementioned HDMI cable and ran the aforementioned amount of usage time for all the monitors (the HP, Dell, and the 2 LG 24MP88HV-S). Only the LG 24MP88HV-Due south shows the red glow / burn down-in.I read other review and seems other users have no problem later on even four months of usage or more. Perhaps I am but unfortunate enough to receive two defect units in a roll or something is incorrect with that batch in the manufacturing process. Even the LG tech support representative looked at the issue and she said it is weird. Just TVs have burn-in but monitor rarely has burn-in. Anyway, I will accept to render it and get a Dell or HP monitor. It is a shame that LG makes great products, but I am unable to accept a decent one. I have many LG products and none of them has defect and operate for years. I approximate I merely won the "lottery" this time.

I wanted to use these monitors mainly for software development. So 1080p and 60hz was enough for me. Also, I am powering these with my dell xps 15 9560. I am using the dell wd15 dock which drives 2 displays and charges my car. The tertiary brandish is connected to the hdmi port on the laptop.Pros -Nice Paneldecent speakersVESA mounting !small bezels on all four sides. Makes it a champ in any multi monitor configCons -Window management software is crappy - makes my system lagbuild quality is flimsy - the backside goes inside the torso if y'all put force on the portsno brandish portno USBnipple button standby lights ! - so annoyingIf you want a monitor don't let the cons let you lot down. It is a great monitor with a really squeamish panel

When I first turned the monitor on I could barely expect at annihilation blackness because information technology pixelated like crazy. I included my settings that seem to mitigate some of this pixelation. Backlighting is fifty-fifty and I don't accept issues with burn-in. Bought used to pair with new M1 Mac Mini and it pairs perfectly. The colors match almost like they were made for each other! This is the closestI've gotten to an apple display for the least amount of money.

After having been spoiled by LG monitors and TVs, I thought I would give it a shot and supersede my current 5 year old 24 inch monitor with this one. I needed a good panel for my piece of work and hobbies as well as a HDMI port, so, information technology seemed like a perfect friction match. Sadly, it didn't work out.I noticed the issues right when I beginning turned on the monitor. Black levels are virtually not-existent and the colors were totally off. Thankfully, LG monitors let you tweak the colors to your liking, and then, that was something I could work with. Afterwards 2 hours of hard work, I had the colors as perfect equally possible simply, during the process, I discovered uneven back lighting every bit well as lots of low-cal bleeding and IPS glow. At least that explained the non-real black levels to some degree.On default settings, contrast and brightness are turned up high. Contrast was actually at the max 100%. With that settings, y'all could meet some details in pictures, yet, you'd also plow bullheaded later eight hours working in that mode. Another issue with this monitor: when y'all reduce contrast and brightness, colors change, too. You'll take to do color tweaking all over over again when adjusting brightness and contrast.I as well noticed some heavy colour crashing on this monitor. Color crashing is when you see a lot of pixelation, lines or curves on slope colors instead of a smooth transition. None of the settings seemed to ease that; I tried annihilation I could think of.The viewing angles on this monitor are very narrow, too. A little upward / downward shift of your head or a footling left and right motility will make the screen fade instantly.The born speakers work but they sound and then tinny that yous'd prefer to not accept them on at all.And, lastly, the power led. Information technology seems to have a mind of its own. I set the led in the settings to "off", yet, whenever you lot wake up the figurer / screen, the led is on. On standby it continuously flashes which is really annoying. I don't understand why LG would call back that people would like that.I will exist switching back to my old monitor. This one is just non for me. My recommendation: look elsewhere for a decent monitor. This isn't it!
